Cookie Policy

The academy sets these first-party cookies of its own. __Host-hv_session keeps you signed in: it is encrypted, cannot be read by scripts on the page, and lasts thirty days unless you sign out. __Host-hv_login exists for at most ten minutes while you sign in with Google, to make sure the sign-in that comes back is the one you started; for a minute after your session is renewed, __Host-hv_retry stops a broken session from being retried in a loop. hv_utm is set only when you arrive from a campaign link or another website and records that campaign, the referring site and your first page, for thirty days. hv_consent remembers whether you accepted analytics cookies, for six months.

    The sign-in cookies are needed for the academy to work; you cannot use your account without them.
    

When analytics is switched on, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. No analytics script is loaded until you accept. If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier. You can withdraw at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the foot of every page; we then stop measuring and delete those cookies.

You can decline analytics in the banner, and your browser can block or delete any cookie at any time. If you block the sign-in cookies you will not be able to stay signed in.
